Step challenges
Connect Health Connect to sync your daily steps in a private challenge and learn what is shared and how to stop it.
A step challenge counts the steps you take during a private challenge. For now, it works on Android phones with Health Connect. Apple Health (HealthKit) for iPhone will be available later and will follow the same rules.
Connect
Open the step challenge and tap “Conecte Health Connect” (Connect Health Connect). Read the connection card and allow step access in Health Connect. Your consent applies to that challenge. kiki subtracts steps you entered manually in Health Connect from the total.
What is sent and who can see it
kiki sends one positive total per day for each challenge. Raw Health Connect records never leave your phone. Challenge members see your total steps on “Placar” (Leaderboard), not your totals for each day. “Ocultar meus valores” (hide my values) hides only the number. In “Cada um”, your leaderboard position and the day you reached the target stay visible. In “Juntos”, your hidden steps still count toward the group total.
Sync and limits
Steps sync when you open the app or the challenge. If you also allow background access in Health Connect (optional), they sync roughly once an hour in the background. Sync can send days up to 48 hours after the challenge ends. The numbers come from Health Connect; kiki cannot verify whether they are accurate. Manually entered steps do not count.
Stop or delete
In the challenge’s “Opções do desafio” menu, choose “Parar de sincronizar passos” (Stop syncing steps). This stops future syncs but keeps totals already sent. Leaving the challenge or deleting your account deletes your daily totals. In “Juntos”, the steps you already added stay in the group total until the challenge is deleted, no later than 90 days after it ends. If you created the challenge, you cannot leave it: choose “Excluir desafio” to delete it for everyone, or request deletion through the privacy contact (privacidade@30labs.com.br).
