Actions: how progress is calculated
Each action has a starting value and a target. Progress runs from 0% to 100%, and a goal's progress is the average of what is inside it.
An action is a number you track, such as “Run 120 km” or “Read 6 books”. It has a starting value, a target and the current value, which changes with every check-in. It can sit directly in a goal, inside an objective, or on its own as a standalone action.
Create an action
Tap “+” and “Ação”. Fill in:
- “Nome” (name): what you will measure.
- “Começa em” (starts at) and “Alvo” (target): where you start and where you want to get.
- “Unidade” (unit), such as km, books or days.
Under “Onde fica” (where it goes), pick the goal or the objective, or tap “Avulsa (fora de uma meta)” (standalone, outside a goal). An action can also be a milestone: done or not done.
How progress is calculated
Progress on an action is the distance covered between the starting value and the target: (current value − starting value) ÷ (target − starting value). It always stays between 0% and 100%. This also works for going down, such as losing weight: if you start at 90 and want to reach 80, being at 85 is 50%. A milestone is 0% until it is done and 100% after.
An objective's progress is the average of its actions. A goal's progress is the average of what sits directly inside it: each objective counts once, at its own average, and each direct action also counts once.
Pace
With a deadline, kiki compares your progress with where you should be today and shows “no ritmo” (on pace) or “atrás do ritmo” (behind pace). With no deadline, or after it, the status comes from the percentage alone.
Tips
- Use numbers you can check without effort.
- Two or three actions per goal are usually enough.
- A running, cycling or other workout action can receive your Strava activities.
